This morning started with our usual wake up at 7:30 and breakfast at 8:00. At morning service, the message was about building a worthy relationship with God through prayer and honesty. We had a full day of classes, sports, and swim. We sang with Maestro Khoren during Armenian Heritage and in Arts & Crafts, we designed and decorated Armenian letters. After lunch, we all came together on the sports field and played World Cup soccer and had a fun and intense game of volleyball. Due to the hot weather, everyone couldn’t wait to jump into the pool and cool off before enjoying some cabin group time. Today, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian joined our camp community and visited our classes and sports/swim, and engaged in meaningful conversations with us. Before dinner, Hayr Aren, Khajag Srpazan, and Der Hovan led us in a special church service called “Antasdan, or, “Liturgical Rougation,” during which we symbolically blessed the four corners of the world. After dinner, we played a new-to-Hye Camp game called “Animal Kingdom.” Everyone had a lot of fun running around and being squirted with water guns! For our evening service, Khajag Srpazan delivered a message about the history of the cross, glorifying our Lord, and answered many of our questions about our faith and heritage. We ended the night with the junior campers heading to bed and the teens enjoying some free time in the lodge.
