CITs, Staff and Volunteers

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

The Counselor-in-Training program is open to qualified young people aged 16 and 17 years old.

CITs will participate in a Leadership Training program that includes both “on-the-job” training by working with staff and campers, along with daily leadership and team-building classes. If you have any questions about the application process, contact the Camp Administrator, Jennifer Morris, at (248) 648-0702, or via email at jenniferm@armeniandiocese.org.

All CIT applications must be received by JUNE 1. We will review all applications and confirm your acceptance by JULY 1. Should you not be accepted, you will be eligible for a full refund. In the meantime, we encourage you to begin completing all of the required forms.

PLEASE NOTE: CITs must arrive at camp early to undergo CIT and Staff Training from Wednesday, July 22 – Saturday, July 25.

Seeking Qualified Staff Members

Staff members must be qualified young adults ages 18 and older.

The Hye Camp staff is an integral part of the quality, integrity, and success of the program. They are expected to serve as mentors and Christian role models, and as such, not only have a positive and lasting impact on campers but also bear a tremendous responsibility. Accordingly, we are seeking fun-loving, dedicated, and faithful individuals who welcome the opportunity to spend the summer mentoring young Armenian Christians and strengthening their own faith in the process. We also provide a modest stipend in appreciation of their efforts.

All staff application materials must be received by JUNE 1; therefore, please act quickly if you are interested in this opportunity. We will review all applications and confirm if you have been accepted by JULY 1. In the meantime, we encourage you to begin completing all of the required forms.

If you are accepted as a staff member, you must arrive at camp early for participation in mandatory training and pre-camp preparations on Wednesday, July 22 – Saturday, July 25. This training session is for all CITs and Staff. If you have any questions about the application process, contact the Camp Administrator, Jennifer Morris, at (248) 648-0702, or via email at jenniferm@armeniandiocese.org.

Volunteers

Our team of volunteers is an integral part of the quality, integrity, and success of the Hye Camp program. Volunteers serve as mentors and Christian role models, and as such, not only have a positive and lasting impact on campers but also bear a tremendous responsibility. Accordingly, we are seeking fun-loving, dedicated, and faithful individuals who welcome the opportunity to spend the week, or even the summer, mentoring young Armenian Christians and strengthening their own faith in the process.

As dedicated members of your parish community, we are sure you know of young adults who would make excellent staff members. We hope that you will help us in spreading the word and recruiting this year. In addition, if you know of other adult volunteers who would benefit our program, then please pass this information on to them and ask them to contact us. The areas that we are most in need of adult volunteers are: camp nurses, classroom volunteers, nighttime security, lifeguards, Armenian Language instructors, and Religion instructors.

If you are interested in applying to be a volunteer, please contact Jennifer Morris at (248) 648-0702 or via email at jenniferm@armeniandiocese.org. As you know, our lodging space is very limited, but our need for your support is great. The Camp Directors and administration will assess the needs of the camp program, your dates available to serve, and how we can best use your talents. Volunteers will be notified of their acceptance by JULY 1.
