Today marked the beginning of our second week at Hye Camp. We all enjoyed an extra hour of sleep and gathered in the chapel at 9:30 to celebrate the Divine Liturgy. Due to our more intimate camp size, we had the unique opportunity to approach the altar several times throughout the service. We were blessed to have this experience at Hye Camp today because it allowed us to truly feel our Lord’s presence. After our special church service, we ate brunch together and continued our preparation for the arrival of our week 2 campers, CITs, and counselors. We had an easygoing day of sports, Armenian dancing, and tavloo instruction. After the arrival of our week 2 Hye Camp members, we enjoyed an outdoor barbecue for dinner. For our evening activity, we played a game that’s new to Hye Camp called “Dutch Auction” and everyone worked in their cabin groups. Then, we all headed to the campfire and enjoyed some s’mores and singing. During evening service, Der Tavit discussed God’s will and understanding the reason behind his doings. Our junior campers headed to bed and our teens enjoyed some free time before heading to bed.
