Today was the first full day of our second week at Hye Camp. At morning service, we talked about God’s constant presence in our lives and his placement on an “invisible throne.” In arts & crafts today, we made styrofoam khatchkars and talked about the history of the cross. Our religion class discussions were a continuation of our morning service message. After we enjoyed some soup and sandwiches for lunch, we headed to sports as an entire camp community. We played beach volleyball, soccer, basketball, and Frisbee. Afterwards, we went to the pool to swim before the afternoon storm came in. We enjoyed some cabin group time before dinner and then went to the chapel for our evening activity. We sang the “10 Commandments Song” with Der Tavit and played a camp-wide game of Jeopardy. Also, we were able to watch Selena Groh’s quarterfinalist episode of the Teen Jeopardy Tournament and ask her a few questions about the experience. We closed the night with a snack and evening service, during which we highlighted the importance of humility and knowing God’s intended role for us.
