Today was our last full day of Hye Camp 2014. After our typical wake up at 7:30 and breakfast at 8:00, we went to the chapel for morning service. Hayr Aren conveyed to us the importance of accepting God’s will and having spiritual role models. We had a great time in each of our classes, especially in Armenian language class when we took our final test! All of the campers were able to see their progress and how much they learned from our Armenian language instruction. After a delicious lunch, we followed our usual schedule of going to sports and swim. At sports, we played tons of basketball, volleyball, and soccer. We enjoyed each other’s company at the pool and had a great time splashing around! After cabin group time, we ate dinner and then went back to our cabins to get ready for the dance. At the dance, we took pictures in our cabin groups, ate some snacks, and of course, danced! Everyone appreciated a half-hour extension on their curfew. Tomorrow morning, we’ll be waking up at 7:30 and cleaning our cabins in preparation of closing our camp program for the Summer of 2014. We’ll be sending all of our campers, CITs, staff, and clergy back to their parishes with well-wishes of safety. We’ve had an unforgettably wonderful camp season and we can’t wait for the Summer of 2015 to do it all over again!
