Today was filled with lots of positive energy and excitement at Hye Camp. Rev. Fr. Hovhan Khoja-Eynatyan, pastor of St. James in Evanston, IL, taught the heritage classes and helped campers to become familiar with music from the Divine Liturgy. Rev. Fr. Tadeos Barseghyan, pastor of St. Sahag in Minneapolis, MN taught religion classes in the morning to the juniors and Rev. Fr. Yeprem Kelegian, pastor of St. Mesrob in Racine, WI taught religion classes to the teens in the afternoon. After a full day of classes, sports and swim we enjoyed an evening of capture the flag with our Olympic teams. Teams 1, 2 and 3 wore red and teams 4, 5 and 6 wore blue. The youngest juniors started off at the campfire while the older juniors played in the game room. However, a rain storm came through campus, which forced everyone to head inside for snack. We are hoping to reschedule the campfire later in the week, so everyone can enjoy some yummy s’mores and campfire songs. This evening the teens broke up into three small groups and had an opportunity to have a Q & A session with the clergy on campus and learn more about their faith and the teachings of the Armenian Church in a small group setting. The rain has now passed, and everyone is off in their cabins getting good night’s rest!
