And we’re back! Today was an eventful day here at St. Vartan Camp. We all felt the patriotic spirit of the Fourth of July as we walked into breakfast waving American flags and singing “God Bless America” before eating. Der Krikor reminded us all that we are truly blessed to live in America and to be at camp as well. Yesterday evening, our beloved Diocesan Vicar, the V. Rev. Fr. Simeon Odabashian joined us and led us in chapel and religion classes today while focusing on the sacrament of baptism. In their other classes, campers made khatchkars, had a test on the Armenian alphabet, and learned new Armenian songs. They had a fun round of basketball at sports and beat the heat once again by cooling off in the pool. For evening program, the staff set up a Forth of July carnival in the rec hall, where the campers played fun games like pin the tail on the donkey, pie-in-face, and egg tosses. Everyone was all smiles as they won bite-sized candies, pied their counselors, and cheered on their friends. We hope you had as much fun on your Fourth of July as we did!
