Today was full of excitement and visitors. We had Stepan Piligian join us from Holy Translators Armenian Church in Framingham, MA. He gladly volunteers his time to come to camp and teach a few Heritage classes to help us learn about religious and historical people. For example, many of our staff helped to bring Khrimian Hayrig, Komitas Vartabed, and Karekin Hovsepian visited us today. We also had Maestro Khoren Mekanejian from the Diocese join us this morning, to teach a variety of Armenian liturgical and folklore songs. The third person we were pleased to welcome today was Fr. Abraham Malkhasyan from Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Bayside, NY. He will be staying with us for a while and teaching the religion classes and even joined us in the pool today. So after all of this excitement we were able to get in all of the days’ activities, like soccer for sports in honor of the World Cup. The evening ended strong with Stepan hosting a little quiz show for each of the age groups based on what they had learned in class that day. And then there was a Clergy question and answer session for the opposite group. Thankfully the rain held off until the very end of the day. Tomorrow we look forward to the CIT hunt.
