Today we woke up bright and early at 7:30 and headed to breakfast and chapel. While the junior campers attended their classes, the teens headed to the sports field, then off to swimming. It was a very hot day so all the campers tried their best to stay “HYE”drated in the heat! At the sports field the campers participated in a fun game of volleyball and basketball with their counselors and CITs. After the morning schedule we had a delicious taco salad lunch and had free time to work on cabin skits or just hang out with friends. Following free time we had afternoon classes for the teens and sports and swim for the juniors. Local parishioners like Haig Pedian Jr., John Nercessian and John Grigorian came up for the evening to grill some delicious chicken, while the camp staff provided all of the sides and salad bar with cheesecake for dessert! Four of our staff members organized the evening activity, which was Easter Skits. Each age group was given a bag of props and a topic, such as infomercial, game show and a soap opera. The campers, along with their staff members, used all of their props and planned a skit that related to Easter. All of the campers said that it was a great evening activity and were all cheering on the clergy, nurses and adult volunteers as they put on their skit, “Jesus’ farewell concert.” We did experience some thunderstorms but the staff made the most of the situation and ensured all participants were safe. We had ice cream sandwiches and dance party to wrap up the evening.
