Today began with Badarak for the Staff and CITs, celebrated by our incoming director and long-time SVC veteran, Fr. Vasken Kouzouian. After brunch, campers and their families started to arrive for registration. After the campers got settled into their dorms, Counselors and CITs had group time with their campers to help them get acquainted with the program and each other. At 4:00 we held a camp-wide orientation where campers learend about “A Day in the Life at SVC” and sang some camp songs. After dinner, campers had the swim test to get the appropriate bracelet for their swimming skills. This was followed by Evening Activity for Juniors and Teens (which included ice-breakers and other fun games) with Evening Worship in between the two groups. The weather was fairly nice throughout the day with some showers mid-day, which turned the warm, humid weather into a nice cool evening. What a great way to end the first day of Session C!
