Campers woke up excited to start their first full day of camp. In sports, with Vahe Hakobyan, the teens played kick ball and the juniors played line basketball, a game involving two teams and each team member has a number. When the team member’s number is called, they must shoot a basket before the opposing team member. The campers also appreciated cooling off after sports in the pool with Chelsea Kress, Alexis Davitian, and Shane Madden. In “Crafts & Arts”, with Patrick Hovsepian, they made an Easter banner by coloring paper eggs and pasting them on a long piece of banner paper. In Heritage, Christine Hovsepian taught the campers how to Armenian line dance and in Armenian language, Ara Jaklian and Arman Uzunyan prepared the campers for two weeks of vocabulary they will be learning. In Religion Fr. Vasken went over the “Code of Christian Living” with the campers to give them an opportunity to know what type of behavior is expected of them not only while at camp, but in our daily lives back at home. In the evening, Marcus split the campers up into 8 groups, told them they needed to make an Easter skit, and gave them bags of assorted paraphernalia to use as props. The skits were requested to be funny and to highlight the true meaning of Easter. The campers had a lot of fun working together and performing their skits in front of the rest of the camp.
