The day began rainy and dreary in upstate New York, but the spirits soared at St. Vartan Camp. Due to the rain, we were unable to go swimming. So instead our lifeguards headed inside to the rec center to lead the campers in Tae Bo and yoga. During sports, the campers took shelter under the pavillion and participated in Kiki’s Boot Camp Wednesday for a tough workout. Classes continued throughout the day, and campers really enjoyed learning more about their Armenian faith and heritage. After dinner, the campers gathered for the evening program. The male campers had an opportunity to meet with Hayr Daniel Findikyan and Fr. Krikor Sabounjian to discuss their journey to the priesthood. The female campers met with Yn. Lu Ann Sabounjian and Jennifer Morris to learn about their ministry and service to the church. All participants were encouraged to think about what their God given talents are and how each of them can best serve the Armenian Church. We ended the day in vespers and everyone went to sleep dreaming of sunny skies and warm weather for Thursday.
