Today was a beautiful day! Not too hot or humid but just perfect for the day that we had planned. As usual, we had a wakeup call at 7:30AM and breakfast at 8:00AM sharp. Following breakfast, we had morning service in the chapel, which was led by Fr. Tavit. Today’s message was about how we measure God’s love and how God measures our love. During classes, the campers made the sidewalks colorful and bright by drawing on the ground with chalk in arts and crafts. At sports, the campers got to play some volleyball and basketball. The teen campers got to spend a little more time today in the pool during swim time. For dinner, we had grilled chicken made by Armenian community members that volunteered to come and grill for us. It was a delicious dinner! For the past two days, we have had Sara, Alina, and Sona working hard for tonight’s event, which was a great success. The event was a real-life version of the board game Clue. The scenario was that Zaven’s pillow was stolen. Campers, in their cabin groups, had to find clues in order to find out where and how the crime happened and who stole the pillow. A special video was prepared with introductions of the suspects and the locations where the scene could have taken place. Cabin four, the thirteen year old girls, were the first ones to finish and guess that Alina was the one who stole the pillow. After evening programs, snacks were served in the lodge with a final edition of W-HYE news. New co-anchors from the 15 year old boy’s cabin, Alec and Sarkis, did a great job in helping Anahit and Alec deliver some hilarious news. Evening prayers were led by Fr. Tavit as he reviewed his morning message with a new perspective. The 15 year old boys and girls took on some additional leadeership in the evening at bedtime to help them understand and prepare for their roles as CITs next year. We are all looking forward to the fianl day of the Hye Camp season.
