Our day began with a typical 7:30 wake-up and breakfast at 8:00. During our morning service, we discussed Jesus’ constant presence in our lives and God’s continual protection and guidance. We were blessed to be joined by Rev. Fr. Tavit and Yn. Tirouhe from Sts. Joachim and Anne Armenian Church, in Palos Heights, IL today. They both taught Armenian heritage and sang songs about the Bible and religion that Fr. Tavit wrote himself. In arts & crafts today, we tie-dyed pillowcases red, blue and orange. All of our campers, CITs, and staff members enjoyed this activity which is becoming a tradition at Hye Camp. We were treated to a very special dinner of kebob, pilaf, pita bread, salad, and cheese boreg (compliments of Knights & Daughters of Vartan). We also had Hye Camp alum and parents of campers volunteer to grill the kebob for us, proving that Hye Camp builds familial bonds. After dinner, every cabin group quickly got ready for the talent show. Everyone had a wonderful time at the talent show watching hilarious skits, creative dances, and solo performances. We ended the evening by praying the Hayr Mer before juniors headed to bed and the teen campers enjoyed some free time.
