Today was our first day of classes. The juniors began their morning with Religion, Armenian Language, Heritage and Arts & Crafts. While the teens began their day with sports and swim. In Armenian class the campers learned basic conversational skills. In Religion, the clergy instructors discussed the importance of the Bible and learned how to locate passages. In Arts and Crafts, each of the campers created a banner that said, “We’re all in!” and wrote down their goal for the week here at camp. In Heritage, some of the counselors and CITs taught Armenian dancing. After lunch, the schedule flip-flopped. Later in the day, Maestro Khoren arrived and led the campers in an evening singing session. Also, in the evening the camp broke up into discussion groups by gender to focus on the Diocesan theme “Vocations: A Call to Serve.” All of the boys had an opportunity to meet with the clergy, while the girls met with Yn. Tirouhe, Jennifer and Sue. The discussions focused on ways each of us can serve the church using our talents and gifts from God.
