This morning, we rose early to celebrate Badarak as a whole camp family. Many of our campers and CITs served on the altar, and everyone lent their singing voices to fill the chapel with our beautiful sharagans. Following a filling brunch, campers took their swimming tests and enjoyed some sunny time in the pool. Later in the day, kids flocked to the game room and to the games on the green as they savored their canteen snacks. For evening activity, counselor groups were given a single beach ball and told to create a mascot for their cabin. After thirty minutes, the groups returned to the chapel to show off their creations. With the help of our campers’ imaginations, we were introduced to many Beach Ball People, including a hammocking priest, an Armenian mermaid, and a superhero! Before heading to bed, the juniors got to enjoy some time at the campfire while the teens watched one of the Diocese’s Bread & Salt videos and discussed the impact of our canonized martyrs. The teens also got to spend some time singing and s’moring by the campfire before turning in for the night.
