We have arrived at the moment for which we have all been waiting… Hye Camp had begun! We kicked off this summer with camp-wide prayer, led by Hye Camp Director V. Rev. Fr. Aren Jebejian. Following a warm welcome from the Director of the Diocese’s Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, Jennifer Morris, we all ate a delicious outdoor BBQ as we reunited with old friends and began making new ones. After our parents said goodbye, campers met with their counselor groups and started to learn each other’s names and interests. Once campers got oriented to their groups, the whole campus met in the chapel and learned the lay of the land and the camp schedule. Later, we all had snacks in the main lodge before heading to evening chapel. Everyone had an early night in to get rest for Badarak in the morning.
