The day began with Badarak and brunch for the CITS and Staff. After three full days of training, we were prepared to welcome more than 125 campers. This year we are excited that Hye Camp is celebrating its 50th anniversary and expanding to a two-week program. Cars and buses began pulling up for registration mid-afternoon. Our season began with an opening prayer service in the chapel for all of the parents and campers. Followed by a delicious outdoor BBQ of hamburgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill. After dinner parents departed, and campers spent time with their CITs and counselors getting to know their cabinmates before a camp-wide orientation in the chapel. Skits were performed by the CITs and Counselors to show the campers the day in the life of a typical Hye Camper. Following orientation, we had snack and chapel before heading to bed. We’re looking forward to our first full day of Hye Camp!
