It was another gorgeous day today at Hye Camp with sunny skies and cool breezes. The campers finished up their khatchkars in arts and crafts with Angela, learned more about the Armenian alphabet with Tamar, had an opportunity to sing and dance with Maestro Khoren, and also learned about the seven sacraments with our clergy instructors Fr. Tavit, Fr. Tadeos and Fr. Yeprem. Tonight the campers had a blast “making a person” with a beach ball using lots of creative energy and teamwork. Each cabin worked together and had fun presenting and listening about each of the creations. Following the evening program, the juniors (ages 8-12) headed to the campfire for some yummy s’mores, while the teens (ages 13-15) took part in a discussion. Jenni shared an inspirational independent film with the teens called “The Butterfly Circus” which led to a powerful discussion about seeing beauty in all of God’s creatures and our call to help others see it within themselves. Following their heartfelt discussion, the teens also headed to the campfire before getting ready for bed.
