Here we are again, at the start of another camp session! This morning the staff, CITS, and early campers celebrated Badarak, and then after Badarak Der Krikor and Der Mardiros performed a blessing of the fields service (Antasdan) on the occasion of the feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord. Der Mardiros loved spraying us with rose water! After filling up on a hearty brunch, we were ready for the flow of camper arrivals that began. Once we had everyone settled into their rooms, we gathered for our first meeting in the rec hall to jumpstart our spirits. Throughout the day, campers got aclimated to the campus and began to make friends within their counselors groups. A period of rain did not keep us from taking our swim tests, so the campers are set to go swimming tomorrow with their wristbands. This evening, juniors and teens each had a session of icebreakers where they got to know all of the other campers in their age groups. We are off to a great start!
