It was a normal morning at St. Vartan Camp, campers were having fun playing volleyball in sports, swimming, and in their classes. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious barbecue outside. Fresh chicken breast sandwiches, potato salad, macaroni salad, and brownies were on the menu. In the evening, the campers sat down for a slightly more serious program where Fr. Hratch Sargsyan, Fr. Krikor, Fr. Mardiros, Maestro Khoren Mekanejian, Maria Derderian, and Jennifer Morris all spoke about their call to serve the Armenian Church. The campers were so engaged in each story told, that during their snack, many began asking questions to each of the speakers so much so that after their snack was completed the group reconvened to ask even more questions to the panel in a group setting. We closed the night, as always, with evening vespers before sending the campers back to their dorms for a good night’s rest.
