We celebrated one of the five major feast days of the Armenian Church, Baydzaragerbootiun, (the Transfiguration of Christ) during Divine Liturgy by doing an Antasdan (a blessing of the four corners of the world). In the morning, campers joined Greg Dalakian in a skype video chat session with adults and children from the FAR (Fund for Armenian Relief) Children’s Center in Armenia, where they had a chance to enjoy some poems read by the children at FAR and appreciated chatting with children their age.

Campers enjoyed playing dodgeball in sports, and though the forecast was calling for rain, the weather held up while the campers enjoyed swimming in the sun. We had our camp dance in the evening where campers danced to various genres of music including Armenian, Middle Eastern, and popular mainstream music.

In sports the campers enjoyed the notorious “Boot Camp” which was pushed back to Thursday to accommodate the visit from our Primate on Wednesday. In the morning campers played dodgeball in sports. Around lunchtime, we were visited by our primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, and he joined us in an outdoor barbecue. After lunch, he walked around and visited campers for some one on one discussion and then spoke to the camp as a group.
