We had such a full day! Campers enjoyed a little break from routine with a revised class schedule. Instead of having Armenian class, the campers went to two heritage classes, one class in which they perfected their singing with Maestro Khoren and a second class led by Stepan Piligian. Stepan taught them the significance of two important battles in Armenian history through the personal testimonies from the figures of history themselves. Ghevont Yeretz and St. Vartan Mamigonian spoke of their experiences at The Battle of Avarayr, and Gevorg V and General Silikian from The Battle of Sardarabad. In the afternoon, our Diocesan Primate, Abp. Khajag Barsamian, came to camp with two Diocesan interns and had an opportunity to address the campers. The campers were very responsive and asked him a multitude of questions. Before dinner, Stepan also had a chance to bring the campers on a walking tour of our campus, and he showed them how each building is situated in respect to historic Armenia and where our buildings’ names come from. Later in the day, the campers wore their superhero garb for a fun game of Clue, where they had to find out who stole Superman’s super juice. It was a tough battle, but the Wonderwomen junior girls won!
