Today at SVC, we started our day off with a sermon from Rev. Fr. Kapriel Mouradjian, pastor of Holy Resurrection in New Britain, CT on the last day of his visit. He discussed the power of prayer and the many forms it may take in our lives. During sports, the teens played an energetic game of Matball on the field. Our counselor Christine Karakouzian picked up where Maestro Khoren Mekanejian’s Heritage class left off, the campers enjoyed learning traditional Armenian dance steps like the Kertsi. This afternoon we were blessed with a visit from His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian accompanied by Eric Vozzy of the Diocesan Department of Christian Education. After taking a group photo, we played an interactive trivia game about the Primate’s life and the history of our camp. Then he educated us of the process that took place for the recent ordinations of Der Armash and Der Avedis. During Special Programming, we had our very own version of Minute to Win It, where we participated in several miniature competitions as counselor groups. To end our day, we played an exciting game of Capture the Flag! We can’t to wrap up our first week with our dance tomorrow night!
