After celebrating Badarak in the morning, our camp family welcomed six new campers today! Many of our campers, CITs, and staff served on the altar, and our Head Female Counselor Lulu Dayian supplied us with piano accompaniment for the sharagans. We continued our Olympic competitions with several relay races. Red, Blue, and Orange raced to finish a crab walk, a bat spin, a water cup transfer, soccer penalty kicks, sprints, and more! To cool off after the races, juniors and teens rotated between swimming and playing in the game room. Since it was the Feast of the Transfiguration, the campers celebrated Vartavar by using cups and pails to soak each other in the pool area. Once we fueled ourselves with dinner, we all gathered around the campfire and learned new songs and chants. Something tells us that they will be singing the Madzoon Song all year ’round!
