We can’t believe it is already Friday. We have a had a full week with so many memories. Many of our A1 only campers have decided to stay the 2nd week, and while we are sad to see 9 campers go home tomorrow, we are really excited for 9 new campers to join us on Sunday. Today we went back to our “normal” schedule with classes in the morning. Jennifer taught religion and helped us to better understand the Badarak and learn how to use the Badarak book. We also shared a few of our favorite sharagans and learned the Armenian pronunciation and meaning in English. Naomi Davitian, volunteer from the St. Mary Armenian Church in Hollywood, FL continued her Armenian Language instruction with CITs. Today they played Armenian Jeopardy and tested their knowledge from the past week. In Arts and Crafts, Christine and her CITs helped campers to complete a two-day paper machete pomegranate art project. And in Culture and Heritage, Anna and her CITs took a day off from Armenian dancing to learn the art of tavloo. In the afternoon it was too cold to go swimming, so Sarah led the campers in fun indoor games. During sports, Aram led the campers on the soccer field. Later in the afternoon, Sean surprised the campers with an opportunity to learn more about our American history in honor of the Fourth of July as they worked together to re-enact photos. After we warmed up from dinner, campers headed back to their dorms to get ready for the dance. Everyone is looking forward to some extra sleep tonight and sunny, warm days through the weekend.
